The completion of Euro and Copa America this weekend will speed up the transfer window. Bayern Munich have completed a big chunk of their transfer business before the team jets off to Asia for the pre-season tour. The Bavarian club wants to sign at least two more players to strengthen the squad.

Adding another attacking player to the squad is on the agenda for Bayern. The record Bundesliga champions have a significant interest in Paris Saint-Germain’s Xavi Simons. Apart from RB Leipzig, Bayern may have another strong competitor for the signature of the Dutch attacking midfielder.

According to The Daily Mirror, Manchester United and Erik Ten Hag are weighing up a move for Xavi Simons. The Premier League side have already strengthened the attack by completing a deal for former Bayern striker Joshua Zirkzee. Simons can become an attractive option for the Red Devils since PSG are interested in a loan deal.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed Manchester United’s interest in Xavi Simons. He insists that the Red Devils have held talks with PSG, but Bayern and RB Leipzig are ahead of the Premier League side in the race to sign the Dutch attacking midfielder.

RB Leipzig had Simons on loan last season. He delivered consistent performances for Leipzig, which eventually led to interest from Bayern and Manchester United. PSG are only interested in a loan deal this summer since PSV Eindhoven are owed a significant share of the transfer fee if Simons completes a permanent move in the ongoing transfer window.

Simons is not the only option for Bayern to strengthen the attack this summer. The French reports have confirmed Die Roten’s plan A is Rennes Désiré Doué. They had a bid rejected for the French winger. If they fail to land Doué, a deal for Simons will be pursued.

The next couple of weeks will see significant developments in Bayern’s pursuit of Doué and Simons. With pre-season training starting for all clubs, both attacking players would like to get their future sorted and avoid a transfer saga.

Elsewhere, Bayern are expected to accelerate the signing of Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen once they agree a deal to sell Matthijs de Ligt to Manchester United. Tah has already agreed personal terms with Die Roten, while De Ligt is open to completing a move to Old Trafford this summer. The signing of Tah will complete the overhaul of defensive options at Bayern.
