Bayern Munich CEO Herbert Hainer is keen to keep Joshua Kimmich at the club until the end of his playing career.

There was plenty of uncertainty surrounding Joshua Kimmich's future at Bayern Munich this summer, but he ended up staying at the club. His contract is still set to expire at the end of the current season, and it remains to be seen if the club and the player will be able to reach an agreement on an extension.

Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are both said to be interested in signing Kimmich, while Hansi Flick is also eyeing a reunion with the versatile midfielder at FC Barcelona.

"I would be delighted" - Bayern Munich CEO on Joshua Kimmich's future

But Bayern Munich CEO Herbert Hainer has no plans to part ways with Kimmich, and wants him to stay at the club until the end of his playing career.

"I would be delighted if he ended his career at FC Bayern. But not next year, but in many, many years after that," Hainer told Sky Sport. "I believe that Joshua feels comfortable in Munich, everything else will be determined by the talks with Max Eberl and Christoph Freund."

Kimmich, who was recently named the captain of the Germany national team, has always stated that he is happy at Bayern Munich. The 29 year old has been at FC Bayern since 2015 and has made a total of 393 appearances for the club.

Hainer also commented on Kimmich being appointed the new Germany captain. "I congratulated Joshua immediately and he replied within two minutes. He absolutely deserves it. He is someone who always leads the way, who always wants to give his best performance."

Amid all the uncertainty surrounding his future, Joshua Kimmich remains a very important player for Bayern Munich. And fans will hope that the club and the player can reach an agreement over an extension in the coming months.
