Bayern Munich CEO Herbert Hainer is backing Jamal Musiala to follow in Thomas Müller's footsteps and stay at the club for the next 20 years.
Jamal Musiala is regarded as one of the most talented young players in the world, and recently showcased his sublime quality by grabbing a goal and a hat-trick of assists for Germany against Hungary. Amid his sublime form, the 21 year old's future has once again come into the spotlight.
"I am very optimistic" - Bayern Munich boss on Jamal Musiala's future
With just under two years left on Musiala's current contract with Bayern Munich, the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid, and other big clubs are said to be eyeing a move for him.
But Bayern remain confident of extending the exciting playmaker's contract, with CEO Herbert Hainer backing him to stay at the club for a very long time. "In my opinion, he could become the second Thomas Müller and play here for the next 20 years. I am very optimistic that we will see him at Bayern for a long time," Hainer told Sky Sport.
"I really appreciate Jamal, when you see how much he has developed, it's incredible. Many say that he will one day be the best player in the world. So we want to do everything we can to tie him to FC Bayern for the long-term."
Bayern Munich signed Jamal Musiala from Chelsea in 2019, and he came through the club's youth ranks before establishing himself in the first-team. He is now an important player for both club and country. While he was surprisingly left out of this year's list of Ballon d'Or nominees, he is being backed to win the prestigious award in the future. And the hope at Bayern Munich will be that he stays on at the club for several years to come.
