Bayern Munich will be active in the summer transfer window, as they wish to establish their pre-existing dominance on the Bundesliga once more. They have let it slip this season, with Bayer Leverkusen racing ahead 10 points clear. In the summer, Bayern's priority will be a new left-back, with Alphonso Davies thought to be on the move to Real Madrid.

But who could replace Alphonso Davies? Well, according to a report from Football Transfers, Bayern Munich have identified Oleksandr Zinchenko as a potential Davies replacement. It is believed that both Bayern and Premier League side Newcastle are keen on Zinchenko, with Arsenal setting an asking price of €45m.

Zinchenko only signed for Arsenal in the 2022 summer, however, he has slowly fallen out of favour in recent times. He was one of the mainstays in Arsenal's title-charge team last season but this campaign, he has been plagued by injury concerns. So much so, that Jakub Kiwior has overtaken him in the hierarchy and with Jurrien Timber set to return, Zinchenko's game time hopes are running slim.

Under contract until 2026, Zinchenko might benefit from a move away from Arsenal. He struggles for game time and Mikel Arteta cannot promise him minutes.

A big criticism of Zinchenko which Bayern Munich fans should be aware of is that he is not the best defender. While he excels at cutting inside and playing between the midfield and attacking lines, when his defensive exploits are called upon at full-back, he is known to struggle particularly in one-on-one situations

Given that Davies is an attacking full-back, it makes sense that Zinchenko is eyed as his replacement. After all, Zinchenko is an excellent passer of the ball and he is very comfortable in possession in the final third. While he cannot compete with Davies' immense pace, he could be an excellent addition to Bayern Munich next season.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are also interested in Takehiro Tomiyasu.
