Bayern Munich will be in the market for defensive options in the summer transfer window. This season, they have scored many goals (the most in the Bundesliga, in fact) but Die Rotten have been let down by goals conceded. With a stronger defence, these defensive mistakes would have been easily avoided. That said, the new manager will implement defensive changes.

One of those defensive changes could involve the signing of long-term Bayern Munich target, Ronald Araújo. The Barcelona centre-back was targeted by Bayern Munich in the January transfer window and the signs are pointing to this interest remaining in the summer.

According to ESPN, Bayern Munich may have better luck in summer, since Barcelona would be willing to sell Ronald Araújo. It is believed they will entertain offers of around €100m, where they believe Araújo's market value sits.

Araújo is a regular starter for Barcelona but they know they must sell players this summer to keep up with financial restrictions. Particularly if they have plans to sign new players, then freeing up space in the squad and alleviating the salary budget is worthwhile. Certainly, Araújo is one of their most profitable assets.

As eluded to, Araújo has made 30 appearances across all competitions this season. Therefore, it is no surprise that Araújo is happy at Camp Nou and he isn't pushing for a move as things stand.

In his own words, Araújo said: "Everyone knows that I am happy at Barça. And I am really grateful to Xavi for the faith he has placed in me."

However, Xavi is not in charge after this summer. He, like Thomas Tuchel, is leaving his spot at the helm come the summer. Therefore, it remains to be seen if Araújo's mind could change.

Meanwhile, further clarity has been revealed on Alphonso Davies' future.
