Real Madrid transfer target might stick with Bayern Munich, says sporting director
By Kian Long
Bayern Munich have some unanswered questions to answer before the end of the season but for the time being, Thomas Tuchel will focus on winning as many games as possible, with the hopes of Bayer Leverkusen slipping up. Tuchel is only at the helm for another few months so regardless what fans may think of him, he will want to leave in the best possible light.
However, there are also some players who are linked with moves away. This is something the Bayern board would be in their best interest to fight against, particularly those players who are key to the long-term health of the club. One of those players is, without a doubt, the Canada international Alphonso Davies.
The left-back is currently linked with a move to Real Madrid. His contract runs out in just under a year and a half, so technically speaking Bayern do not need to sell him this summer. However, should Davies' heart be elsewhere, it would be wise for Bayern to sell him, since they would like to avoid losing a profitable asset like him for free.

But does Alphonso Davies actually want to leave? It's easy to make that assumption given the media speculation but the only person who truly knows the answer is the player himself.
According to Sky Germany, the Bayern Munich sporting director has spoken out on the situation and as far as he is aware, Davies is happy with Bayern Munich. As per a translation from Get Football News Germany, Christoph Freund was asked whether or not Davies could stay at Bayern Munich, to which he replied:
“It’s not at all unlikely. There are conversations, and the conversations are good and open. And then we’ll see how it turns out in the next few weeks. Phonzy feels very comfortable in Munich. He likes playing for FC Bayern.”
