Bayern Munich may have to fend off interest from Arsenal as they look to ensure that star winger Leroy Sané does not leave the club.

The future of Leroy Sané remains the subject of uncertainty, with the winger's contract set to expire at the end of the coming season. While the 28 year old's wish is to extend his contract with Bayern Munich, the two parties have yet to hold talks over a new deal.

Could Arsenal tempt Leroy Sané away from Bayern Munich?

According to Sky Sport, Arsenal are keeping tabs on the situation of Sané and could pursue a move for the Germany international if talks between him and Bayern do not come to fruition. At the moment, the prospect of a return to the English Premier League seems to be an unlikely one for Sané, who joined Bayern Munich from Manchester City in 2020.

Sané has made a total of 175 appearances for Bayern Munich, scoring 48 goals and assisting a further 50. He has been ever-present for Bayern over the years, and will look to play a key role under the charge of former Manchester City teammate Vincent Kompany in the coming season.

The competition for places in attack will be very high at Bayern Munich this year. The Bavarians have already completed the signing of Michael Olise, and are keen to further bolster their attack this summer. Highly rated winger Désiré Doué is thought to be Bayern's top target following Xavi Simons' decision to stay on loan at RB Leipzig. But Max Eberl and co. also have interest in Federico Chiesa of Juventus.
