€60 million Bayern Munich signing scores again for France Olympic team

New Bayern Munich signing Michael Olise made it three goals in two games for the France U-23s with his goal against Japan.
Olise had scored two goals, including an incredible finish from outside the box, in a performance that received several plaudits in Les Blues' previous outing against the Dominican Republic.
He kept that momentum going on Wednesday evening, scoring with a lovely finish in a warm-up game against Japan. Olise latched onto a knockdown from a long ball, took a few strides and then superbly found the bottom corner from just outside the box.
This proved to be the final goal of the game, as France and Japan played out a 1-1 draw in a warm-up friendly ahead of the Olympic games.
Thierry Henry's men will kick-off their quest for gold medal in Marseille on the 24th of July against the United States. They will then face Guinea on the 27th in Nice before a showdown with New Zealand on the 30th, also in Marseille, to conclude the group phase.
Olise started the draw with Japan in the number 10 position, playing behind former Crystal Palace teammate Jean-Phillipe Mateta and veteran Alexandre Lacazette.
Henry had requested Bayern to let Mathys Tel be a part of the France squad for the Olympic Games, but the club, as is their right, would not release the 19-year-old. Olise, though, had already commited to playing at the Olympics before his move to Bayern became official.
It is a shame that Michael Olise won't have a full pre-season to get used to his new surroundings at Bayern, but hopefully he can come to Bavaria full of confidence on the back of a productive tournament.
