The contract saga involving Bayern Munich and Leroy Sane came to an end on Wednesday. The German winger has rejected the modified contract offer from Die Roten and decided to pursue a move away from Bavaria this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, The Athletic, and Sky Sports in Germany, Sane has agreed on a three-year deal with Galatasaray. The German winger will be earning close to €15 million net per year with the Turkish club. Sane will also reportedly get a significant signing-on bonus, which was not offered by Die Roten.
Bayern have been in talks with Sane for most of the last two months. They were close to agreeing on a contract extension at the end of April. However, Sane switched his agents and hired Pini Zahavi to spearhead the negotiations for his next contract.
The Bundesliga champions held positive talks with Zahavi in the last couple of weeks and made an improved offer. The new offer included more fixed salary and fewer bonuses, but the total wages on the table were the same as the old offer. Sane was certainly not content with the offers made by Die Roten.

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Chelsea were linked with Sane, but Galatasaray won the race as they made an ambitious project and lucrative offer to the German winger. He was also linked with Fenerbahce, but Galatasaray have managed to clinch the deal.
Sane unlikely to play for Bayern at the Club World Cup
The 29-year-old winger will be traveling to Turkey late on Wednesday to complete the move to Galatasaray. According to Sky Sports in Germany, Sane will not play for Bayern in the Club World Cup, even though his contract with them ends at the end of June.
Sane’s departure is a significant blow for Bayern as he was thriving under Vincent Kompany. The German winger enjoyed his most productive Bundesliga campaign under the Belgian coach. Kompany and Bayern were keen on keeping Sane beyond this season, but the winger had different plans.
Max Eberl and Christoph Freund have a big job on their hands to strengthen the attack in the summer. Die Roten are also expected to part ways with Kingsley Coman later in the summer, with interest from Saudi Arabia and the Premier League. Coman is reportedly open to pursuing a move away from Bavaria this summer.
The next few weeks will see Bayern linked with several wingers since they have already lost Sane. It will be intriguing to see how they replace the second-most productive winger from the squad this season.
