The final month of the summer transfer window could see Bayern Munich do significant business. The first big piece of business this month will involve Kingsley Coman as he edges closer to a move to Saudi Arabia.

According to Sky Sports in Germany and Fabrizio Romano, Al-Nassr have reached an agreement with Bayern for the signing of Coman. The French winger has already agreed personal terms with the Saudi Arabian club. Die Roten will earn a fee closer to €30 million for Coman, which will also include add-ons.

The French winger had previously insisted that he would like to stay at Bayern next season. He delivered good performances for Bayern at the Club World Cup. There was speculation around his future during last season. Bayern were open to listening to offers for him, but they didn’t want to force him out of the club.

Coman made 339 appearances for Bayern over the last decade. He scored 72 goals and created 71 goals for his teammates. The French winger was plagued with serious injuries but remained a crucial part of the squad over the years. His best moment for Bayern came in the 2020 Champions League final in Lisbon. Coman scored the winner in the final against Paris Saint-Germain to help Bayern win their second treble of the century.

The 29-year-old winger has won every possible trophy with Bayern during his time at the club. Bayern have managed to recoup the fee they had paid to Juventus 10 years ago. It is probably the right time for Bayern to part ways as Coman is moving past the peak of his career.

Bayern may need more signings in the attack

The Bundesliga champions have already strengthened the attack this summer by signing Luis Diaz from Liverpool. However, Coman will be the third senior forward to leave the club after Leroy Sane and Thomas Muller.

In such a scenario, Bayern will at least need one if not two signings in the attack to have a strong and deep squad for next season. VfB Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade remains a target for Die Roten, but negotiations between the two clubs are showing no signs of picking up. It will be interesting to see if there is a breakthrough once Coman seals a move to Al-Nassr.

The likes of Paul Wanner and Lennart Karl should get more opportunities with the first team since several senior forwards have left Bayern this summer. It will be intriguing to see how Bayern reacts to the departure of Coman.
