Bayern Munich have struggled to consistently integrate young players into the first team over the last few seasons. Vincent Kompany has yet to make a young player from the Campus a mainstay in the first team squad.
There was potentially a chance for Adam Aznou to make a case for a place in the squad for next season during the Club World Cup, but he didn’t get enough opportunities. With Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito injured, Aznou should have gotten more game time than the seven to eight minutes he got during the tournament.
Aznou had skipped the post-season friendlies for Morocco to prepare for the Club World Cup at Sabner Strasse. The youngster also had a promising loan spell at Real Valladolid during the second half of the season. However, things are yet to click for him at Bayern. It does look like it may never click as he seeks a permanent transfer this summer.
According to Bild, Aznou has submitted a transfer request before the start of the pre-season training. The Moroccan left-back ideally prefers a permanent transfer, but Die Roten are yet to make a decision. There has been significant interest from several clubs in the services of Aznou.
Real Betis were heavily linked with Aznou earlier this summer, but Bayern are yet to receive a concrete offer from the Spanish club. Meanwhile, The Athletic in the UK has reported Everton’s interest in signing Aznou. The Merseyside are looking to sign a left-back this summer.
Bayern should make sure that a buy-back and significant sell-on clause are inserted in any permanent deal involving Aznou. The Moroccan defender is a promising talent who can certainly become a quality left-back with consistent gametime and the right guidance.
Bayern planning loan move for Jonah Kusi-Asare
As per Bild (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern are looking to arrange a loan move for highly rated Jonah Kusi-Asare. The Bundesliga champions want to extend his contract beyond 2026 before loaning him for a season. Kusi-Asare was part of Bayern’s squad for the Club World Cup, but he didn’t get the opportunity to get on the pitch.
The Bavarian club signed Kusi-Asare from AIK Sona at the start of 2024. Die Roten had beaten several European clubs for his signature and paid a hefty fee of €6.5 million when he was just 16. He has been part of the youth teams since arriving from Bavaria. After excelling at the youth level, the 18-year-old striker is ready to play at the senior level as the next step in his development.
