Refreshing the attack was on the agenda for Bayern Munich in the summer. They seamlessly sealed deals for departures, but strengthening the attack turned out to be a big headache. With significant competition from rivals across Europe, Bayern missed out on a few top targets.

The Bavarian club eventually managed to replenish Vincent Kompany’s attack by signing Luis Diaz from Liverpool on a permanent deal. On the deadline day, Bayern added one more forward by signing Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea on a loan deal, which could turn into an obligation if certain conditions are met.

Bayern have paid a hefty loan fee for Jackson. They can sign him for €65 million next summer if Jackson ends up starting 40 games across the competitions. As things stand, the obligation to buy option will unlikely materialize for Bayern. The decision to sign Jackson will depend on how he performs this season.

It does look like Bayern have already set their priorities for next season. According to Fabrizio Romano (via iMiaSanMia), Rekordmeister are planning to sign a striker next summer to add more depth to their squad in a critical position.

Harry Kane has been a terrific signing for Die Roten in the number nine position. He has scored 100 goals in 104 appearances since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.  The new striker signing will provide cover to Kane and may eventually become his successor in the coming years.

Juventus star is on Bayern’s agenda for the number nine role

The striker signing could be Jackson if he impresses the hierarchy at Bayern this season. In the event of Jackson returning to Chelsea at the end of the season, Die Roten have identified Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic as a potential option for the number nine role.

Vlahovic will become a free agent at the end of the season. Juventus were looking to part ways with the Serbian striker in the summer transfer window, but he ended up staying in Turin. He has blown hot and cold at Juventus, but remains a player who can become a top striker in the right environment.

The former Fiorentina striker is on big wages at Juventus. The entire financial package should make sense for Die Roten to complete the deal, as they want to maintain order in the wage bill. There is a long season ahead of Bayern, so targets could change, but there is a strong likelihood of getting a striker on a permanent deal next summer.
