The season is barely starting, and Bayern Munich is already planning for next summer. The Bavarian club is known for looking at market opportunities to strengthen the squad over the last decade.

Amidst the controversy of the board claiming that they are satisfied with the squad depth and only adding four players during the previous summer transfer window, SportBild (via iMiaSanMia) in Germany has said that Bayern will be monitoring two players who are set to become free agents next summer: Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi and Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic.

New CB in town, again?

One of, if not the best, English center-backs in the meantime, Crystal Palace's long-time captain, Marc Guehi, has fallen into Bayern's radar for a potential move. The 25-year-old was on track to go to Liverpool at the deadline, but the move was eventually vetoed as Palace's supposed replacement, Igor, failed the medical test.

Despite the transfer drama, Guehi's professionalism was shown in his performance at the beginning of the season. He has been the best central defender in the Premier League so far, contributing one goal and, foremost, turning The Eagles into one of the best defensive teams in the league. With Guehi being the leader, Palace only conceded twice after five league matches and kept three clean sheets.

Marc Guehi is not the tallest of players, standing at around 6 feet, but he makes up for it with his fiery mentality, footballing IQ, and the ability to play the ball with his feet. His positioning is also quite exceptional. He has consistently been a set-piece threat despite his height by showing up at the right place and at the right time. At only 25 years of age, the England international has shown quite maturity for someone in his position, becoming a top choice for the Three Lions in the World Cup year.

Bayern's center-back rotation is pretty stacked at the moment with Upamecano, Tah, and Kim, not to mention the likes of Stanisic or Ito. The transfer has drawn a lot of interest, but it would only be likely if one of the current players departs, most likely being Kim Min-jae.

A backup striker for Harry Kane

It is safe to say the Dusan Vlahovic project at Juventus was a massive flop. The Italian record champions won the bidding war with Arsenal and brought in one of football's most highly touted talents back then from Fiorentina for a luxury price of €70 million. So far, 45 goals in 108 games is not the output Juventus was seeking when paying such a hefty price. Dusan Vlahovic will likely leave Turin when the season concludes. He may look for a career resurrection from another Allianz-sponsored stadium in Munich.

Vlahovic has all the tools to become a world-class striker: size, speed, and flair. He is one of the best strikers in the world at taking free kicks. He only lacks proper support and tactical fit at Juventus, which can all change when he comes to Bayern Munich. This season, Dusan Vlahovic has done really well coming off the bench with four goals and one assist, including a brace against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

The 38-time Serbian international can become a viable backup for Harry Kane. Compared to paying a fortune for Nicolas Jackson, this may turn out to be quite a bargain. Dusan Vlahovic has reportedly also added Bayern to his list of preferred destinations as a free agent.
