2021/2022: €57.5 million spent - A window of poaching talent from rivals

Dayot Upamecano (RB Leipzig) - €42.5 million: 8/10

Upamecano had a rough start to his career at Bayern. He was a vulnerable part of the backline in his first two years, especially in big games. He soon found his groove in the next seasons and became Bayern's most reliable center-back. Dayot Upamecano possesses all the tools to be the best at his position: speed, physique, strength, and comfortable on the ball. The older he gets, the more mature and mentally strong he becomes. The Frenchman could still become a staple in the defense in the coming years. Die Roten are looking to reward his performances by extending his contract.

Marcel Sabitzer (RB Leipzig) - €15 million: 5/10

When Bayern signed Sabitzer, he was one of RB Leipzig's best players. However, the Austrian international could never show his playmaking prowess and thunderous long shots at Bayern. He was also not in the best situation to flourish when frequently having to fill in at left-back due to Davies' injuries.

Omar Richards (Reading) - free transfer: 4/10

Richards was never an ever-present character in the match squad, let alone the starting lineup. The English left-back only made 16 appearances before being shipped out the very next season for a decent return.

Sven Ulreich (Hamburger SV) - free transfer: 5/10

Ulreich made his return to Bayern after two years. The veteran was a serviceable backup for Manuel Neuer, who, on his days, can pull off some decent saves.
