Bringing strong sense of togetherness in the team

Bayern often looked like a team of individuals last season. Since Tuchel’s future was sealed as early as February, Die Roten often went through the motions in Bundesliga games. They lacked togetherness in games when things were not going their way. The fringe players hardly got opportunities to impress, which may have affected the team environment.

Kompany has managed to bring a strong sense of togetherness to the team. Even though few players were not part of the club’s plans going into the season, Kompany managed to get the best out of them since they ended up staying in Munich.

The strong team spirit is very much evident in the way the team fights for the ball on the pitch. Every player feels important in the current setup, and the training methods have also impressed several players due to the increase in intensity.

Leon Goretzka has been on the fringes of the squad this season since Bayern wanted to sell him in the summer. However, Kompany has handled Goretzka perfectly. He has not burned the bridges and kept the player on his side. The German midfielder has delivered whenever he has been on the pitch for Die Roten this season. Goretzka will get more opportunities under Kompany in the coming weeks due to Joao Palhinha’s injury.

Kompany has managed to lift a dejected dressing and improve the team spirit, which is reflected in the way players are fighting together for him on the pitch.
