Bayern Munich saw one significant departure from the first team this week as Kingsley Coman sealed a move to Al-Nassr on Friday. The French forward left Bayern after 10 successful seasons. Die Roten will reportedly receive a complete package of €35 million for Coman.
Coman is the third senior forward to leave Bayern after Thomas Müller and Leroy Sane. The Bundesliga champions have strengthened their attacking options by signing Luis Diaz from Liverpool. However, Coman’s departure could force them back in the transfer market.
The Bavarian club has been trying to sign Nick Woltemade from VfB Stuttgart. However, the negotiations with Stuttgart have reached an impasse. Bayern have turned their attention to signing Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea.
According to The Athletic and Sky Sports in Germany, Bayern have opened talks with Chelsea to sign Nkunku. Several other English and German media outlets have also confirmed talks between the two clubs regarding a transfer.
🚨🔵 Christopher Nkunku’s exit will be crucial as reported since July in order for Chelsea to accelerate for Xavi Simons.

Bayern are looking for a loan deal with an option to buy, but Chelsea are pushing for a permanent transfer. The London-based club needs to part ways with Nkunku permanently to make way for players like Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho, who are in talks to complete a move to Stamford Bridge.
Nkunku is open to joining Bayern. The French forward will also prefer a permanent move away from Stamford Bridge. The Bundesliga champions were linked with Nkunku in January, but Chelsea’s demands worth €70 million were deemed excessive. Personal terms were not a problem in January, and it remains the case at this time too.
Chelsea have reportedly brought down their asking price for Nkunku closer to €50 million. It is still a formidable fee for a player who is not going to be part of Enzo Maresca’s plans for next season. Die Roten can certainly bring the price down if Nkunku gives preference to a move to Munich over other destinations this summer.
Nkunku’s versatility will boost Kompany’s attacking options
Nkunku can hit the ground running at Bayern since he already has experience of playing in the Bundesliga. His excellent form at RB Leipzig earned him a move to Chelsea two years ago. The French forward has struggled with injuries and form at Stamford Bridge, but still managed to rack up 20 goals and assists in 48 appearances across all competitions.
The former RB Leipzig forward provides tactical flexibility as he can play in all positions across the attack. Provided the transfer fee is at the lower end, signing Nkunku can turn out to be a smart move for Bayern this summer.
