Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané has hinted that he is not considering a move to Manchester United or Arsenal as he wants to be at a club where he can compete for titles.
Leroy Sané's current contract with Bayern Munich is set to expire at the end of the season, and speculation surrounding his future has been rife in recent months. Reports have linked the Bayern Munich star with a return to the English Premier League, with the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal said to be interested in signing him.
Despite being linked with the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal, Sané would prefer to stay at a club where he can compete for titles. He believes he has that at Bayern Munich, in another hint that he would prefer to stay at the club beyond the end of the season.
Bayern Munich star not considering Premier League return
When asked during his interview with SportBILD if a move to the English Premier League would appeal to him, Sané said, "I have a fondness for the league and still follow some games on TV. But the attraction for me lies in the club where I can deliver my best performance, develop and win titles. I have that at FC Bayern. This is where I have my biggest challenges and goals."
Bayern Munich are also hoping to extend the winger's contract, and the expectation is that the two sides will be able to reach an agreement, as long as Sané agrees to a salary reduction.
"I feel comfortable at the club and in the dressing room. What matters to me is that I'm an important part of FC Bayern's planning and I would like to confirm this role," Sané added.
Leroy Sané has been at Bayern Munich since 2020, having joined the club from Manchester City. The 28 year old has been finding his form of late, and has three goals to his name in 386 minutes of playing time this season.
