Bayern Munich gave a positive update on the recovery of Alphonso Davies last week, as the Canadian full-back is recovering at a much faster rate. He is expected to play for Bayern Munich before the end of 2025.
The Bundesliga champions received another promising news this week on the injury front. Jamal Musiala returned to the pitch for the first time since breaking his fibula and dislocating his ankle against Paris-Saint Germain in the Club World Cup at the start of July. Musiala was photographed on the pitch at Sabner Strasse as he takes a big step forward in his recovery.
There is still a long way to go for Musiala. The Bavarian club will take no chances with Musiala’s return, considering how serious the injury has been for him. They want to avoid relapses and have Musiala ready to play a part during the second half of the season.

Bayern have coped well in the absence of Musiala until now
Musiala has been a key player for Bayern since making his debut in 2020. The 22-year-old has established himself as one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe. His close control and dribbling ensure Bayern can break down deep blocks. Moreover, Musiala also has a very great eye for a killer pass. He is also a good goal-scorer, making him a formidable player in the final third.
His injury was a big blow for Bayern since he is central to Bayern’s long-term and short-term plans. The Bavarian club strengthened the attack in the summer transfer window by signing Luis Diaz and Nicolas Jackson, but they lost the experience of Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman, and Thomas Muller. Musiala’s injury further depleted Vincent Kompany’s options in the final third.
Kompany and Bayern have coped well in the absence of Musiala. Serge Gnabry has stepped up in the number ten position. Die Roten have scored 27 goals in seven Bundesliga games. Harry Kane, Luis Diaz, and Michael Olise have been in sensational form for Die Roten. Kompany is getting the best out of all forwards, which will allow Musiala to recover at the natural pace.
Bayern will hope to see Musiala back to his best once he returns from such a horrific injury. Even if he regains full fitness for the final quarter of the season, it will be a big boost for Bayern. The German national team is also closely keeping tabs on Musiala ahead of next summer’s World Cup. Musiala has established himself as a key player for club and country.
