Manchester United set to miss out on Bayern Munich midfielder
According to Sky Sport, Goretzka has decided to stay at FC Bayern and complete the current season with the club. He is said to be highly motivated to establish himself as a regular at Bayern again, having recently made his return to the starting XI in the absence of injured stars Aleksandar Pavlović and João Palhinha.
Before that, though, Goretzka found himself in and out of the Bayern Munich matchday squad and it has already been made clear to him by those in charge that he is free to leave the club.
Bayern would likely prefer to sell Goretzka in the near future, and are said to be eyeing moves for the likes of Xavi Simons and Tom Bischof. But it remains to be seen whether he will leave the club next summer, with his current contract not due to expire until 2026.
Leon Goretzka, who joined Bayern Munich in 2018, has made a total of 234 appearances for the club. This season, he has featured in 13 matches, with five of those appearances coming from the starting XI.
