It is fair to say that Lennart Karl has been a big revelation in the Bundesliga, let alone at Bayern Munich. The 17-year-old has seamlessly adapted to the first team football after making his debut earlier this season. Karl has become a game-changer for Vincent Kompany since his qualities in the final third create problems for the opposition.

Bayern are pleased with the way Karl has progressed in Hinrunde. He has played over 800 minutes for the first team this season. The youngster has made a remarkable impact in these appearances, scoring six goals and grabbing two assists. Karl became the youngest player to find the back of the net in three consecutive Champions League games.

The record Bundesliga champions are keen on rewarding Karl’s performances with a new contract. According to Sky Sports in Germany, Bayern want to extend Karl’s contract until 2030 or 2031. Karl and his agent, Michael Ballack, are also open to signing a new deal.

As things stand, Karl’s contract at Bayern is until 2028. Considering his potential, it is a no-brainer for Die Roten to extend his contract and secure his future.

Karl’s willingness to sign a new deal also confirms that he wants to stay in Munich on a long-term basis. The youngster extending his contract will quieten the discontent amongst fans after the teenager recently admitted that Real Madrid are his dream club and he would like to play for the Spanish club one day.

Bayern want to sign Vincent Karl

Apart from extending Lennart Karl’s contract, Sky Sports is reporting that Bayern also want to sign his brother Vincent Karl. The 14-year-old midfielder is currently playing for the U-13 team at Eintracht Frankfurt. Vincent Karl is very highly rated in Germany, which potentially explains Bayern’s desire to sign him.

The Bavarian club will sign him for the youth academy since he still has a long way to go before playing at the senior level. It will be a dream for the Karl family to see both Lennart Karl and Vincent Karl playing together for Bayern’s senior team.

For now, Lennart Karl is set to play a crucial role for Die Roten during the second half of the season. Vincent Kompany will carefully manage his game time to avoid burnout and injuries. The return of Jamal Musiala will allow Kompany to rotate better in the attack. The German international is expected to be back in action by the end of January.
