The end of the U-21 Euro on Saturday could see transfer plans for Bayern Munich accelerate in the coming days. The Bundesliga champions have identified Nick Woltemade as their top transfer target to strengthen the attack.

The German striker has already agreed personal terms with Bayern. He has given preference to Bayern this summer. It is up to Bayern to agree a fee with VfB Stuttgart for the 23-year-old striker. Die Roten are planning to make their first bid in the next few days.

Based on reports in Germany, there is a significant gap to bridge in negotiations between Stuttgart and Bayern. According to Sport1 (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern have no plans to pay an absurd fee for Woltemade. The Bavarian club values Woltemade closer to €30-40 million, while Stuttgart value him more than €60 million.

Meanwhile, Bild is reporting that Bayern will make their first offer for Woltemade on Monday. As per this report, Die Roten are ready to pay up to €50 million for the German striker. However, Stuttgart have slapped a price tag of €100 million on the young forward.

Bild has also reported that Woltemade has rejected Napoli and Chelsea in favor of a move to Bayern. With three years left on his contract, Stuttgart are in a strong position to ask for a significant fee from Die Roten. It is going to be a challenging negotiation phase for Bayern. Since they have already missed out on so many targets this summer, they cannot afford to fail when it comes to signing Woltemade.

Woltemade endures a difficult end to U-21 Euro

Woltemade excelled for Germany during the U-21 Euro, scoring six goals during the team’s run until the final. However, Germany couldn’t get over the line in the final. They missed the chance of winning the silverware after suffering a 3-2 defeat against England on Saturday.

The 23-year-old striker also had a quiet game in the final as he failed to get on the scoresheet. Germany played well throughout the competition but narrowly missed out in the final. Woltemade has been tight-lipped about his future during the tournament. He will hope for a quick resolution in order to report for pre-season training at Sabner Strasse in July.

Max Eberl and Christoph Freund have struggled to get deals over the line this summer. They need to find a way to salvage this summer by getting Woltemade for a reasonable fee. The next few weeks are crucial for Bayern as they aim to improve their performances on all fronts next season.
