Even though Bayern Munich are not expected to sign players during the winter transfer window, it will not stop intermediaries from offering players to the Bavarian club. It does look like Bayern were recently offered a chance to explore a deal for one of the best forwards in Europe.
According to TZ, Bayern were recently offered the chance to sign Victor Osimhen by an English intermediary. However, Max Eberl quickly rejected this opportunity and insisted there is no urgent need to sign a star striker. Signing Osimhen or any other star number nine will become a topic for Die Roten if Harry Kane decides to leave Munich.
Osimhen has been one of the prolific goalscorers in Europe over the last few seasons. He excelled at Napoli, helping them win a Serie A title a couple of years ago. The last 18 months have seen Osimhen excelling at Galatasaray. He scored 46 goals for the Turkish side and Nigeria during 2025.
The Nigerian forward has been linked with several top clubs across Europe over the last two summer transfer windows, but a move never materialized due to salary demands. He is currently on a lucrative salary at Galatasaray, which Die Roten will not be able to afford.
Moreover, Bayern don’t need a superstar striker when they have Harry Kane. The English forward scored 60 goals for club and country in 2025. He has scored 19 goals for Die Roten in the Bundesliga this season. Osimhen will struggle to get game time if he joins Bayern since Kane starts almost every game.
Bayern need a backup number nine
The record Bundesliga champions are expected to sign a forward next summer. However, they are expected to sign a backup striker or a versatile forward instead of a star forward.
Harry Kane is content with life in Munich. Bayern are expected to open contract talks with him later this season. The English striker is showing no signs of slowing down, so it makes sense to have a young striker who can learn from him and eventually become his replacement after a few years.
Nicolas Jackson was expected to deputize Kane this season, but he has blown hot and cold in the Bavarian colours. The Senegalese striker will return to Chelsea in the summer since Bayern are not looking to sign him permanently. Die Roten will effectively look to replace Jackson in the squad. They hold an interest in Midtjylland striker Franculino Djú. Bayern tried to sign the 21-year-old forward last summer. Christoph Freund was driving the move for the young forward. They may make a move for him at the end of the season.
