Bayern Munich had to revamp their attack in the summer as several forwards left for different reasons. Leroy Sane left Bayern to join Galatasaray on a free transfer. Thomas Müller was not offered a new deal, while Kingsley Coman left Die Roten to join Al-Nassr.

Die Roten missed out on Florian Wirtz as Liverpool won the race to sign the German forward from Bayer Leverkusen. The record Bundesliga champions eventually signed Luis Diaz from Liverpool. Bayern also signed Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea on a loan deal with an obligation to buy if certain conditions were met.

The Bavarian club also tried to sign another forward along with Jackson on deadline day. Die Roten had pursued a move for FC Midtjylland forward Franculino Djú, but the move didn’t materialize.

As per Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund pushed for a move for Franculino Djú. The Bavarian club had made an offer, but the deal didn’t go through. He remains on Die Roten’s list of forwards for the next summer transfer window.

Djú has scored 19 goals for FC Midtjylland in 22 appearances across all competitions. The 21-year-old primarily plays in the number nine position.

Bayern expected to sign a forward next summer

Djú still has a chance to complete a move to Bayern as the German club will look for a forward next summer. Even though Nicolas Jackson has done well in limited opportunities, Bayern are currently not planning to sign him permanently from Chelsea.

The 21-year-old forward is one of the several targets on Die Roten’s list for the attacking signing for next summer. Bayern have also registered interest in Fisnik Asllani. The German forward is reportedly high on the list of targets for the record Bundesliga Champions.

Harry Kane has been in sensational form this season. He is showing no signs of decline. Bayern want to hold contract talks with him later this season. The English striker has also hinted at signing a new deal. Despite his incredible record, Bayern need a good backup for Kane to ensure they don’t find themselves in a difficult situation when he suffers an injury.

Bayern tried to sign Nick Woltemade from VfB Stuttgart, but couldn’t agree on a transfer fee. The German striker ended up joining Newcastle United.  Woltemade has done well in England until now. Bayern will have to look for a young striker like him who can be reliable with the output in the final third. Time will tell if that forward will be Djú or Asllani for Bayern.
