After strengthening the squad by signing Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari, Bayern Munich are focusing on sales to raise funds for further signings this summer. The Bundesliga champions have already parted ways with Alexander Nubel and Daniel Peretz on permanent transfers.

Bayern still need to define the futures of several fringe players returning from loan spells. One name who is not going to leave Bayern is Kim Min-jae.

According to Sky Sports in Germany, Bayern have decided to keep Kim Min-jae in the squad for next season. He is no longer a candidate for sale. The South Korean defender is also not actively looking for a move away from Bavaria this summer.

Kim Min-jae has been the third-choice center-back behind Jonathan Tah and Dayot Upamecano. It was widely reported in the second half of the season that Die Roten are open to offers for the South Korean center-back. However, the former Napoli defender always insisted on being content with life in Munich. He reportedly rejected approaches from European clubs during the winter transfer window.

Whenever Vincent Kompany offered him chances from the start or the bench, Kim Min-jae didn’t disappoint the Belgian coach last season. Bayern have settled options in the heart of defense for next season, as Dayot Upamecano also signed a long-term extension, so it doesn’t make sense to make massive changes this summer.

Kim Min-jae will have a crucial role to play next season since Kompany will have to manage the workload of center-backs after a busy summer due to the World Cup.

Bayern remain keen on parting ways with Hiroki Ito

In the defensive department, Hiroki Ito still has a concrete chance of leaving Bayern this summer. The Japanese defender has struggled with injuries ever since joining Die Roten from VfB Stuttgart two years ago. Bayern are open to listening to offers for him. They will reportedly sanction a departure if a club is ready to pay a fee close to €20 million. Bayern had activated the release clause of €25 million to sign Ito from Stuttgart in 2024.

Ito is reportedly attracted to a move to Spain. The next few weeks should bring more clarity around his future.

Sacha Boey is another Bayern defender who will be leaving Bavaria on a permanent deal. The French full-back spent the second half of last season on loan at Galatasaray. Die Roten will hope to get good offers for him, as he excelled in Turkey.
