Bayern Munich are close to completing a deal for their top target to strengthen the defense this summer. The Bundesliga champions are close to reaching an agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt for Nathaniel Brown. The 22-year-old left-back has already given a nod to a move to Bayern this summer.

Brown will provide depth in the left-back position. With Alphonso Davies struggling with injuries over the last 12 months, Bayern felt it was crucial to sign a top-quality left-back. Brown can also play higher up the pitch as a wide player.

The German full-back is going to be the only new addition to the defensive department of the squad at Bayern this summer. However, things could change if there are departures in the next couple of months.

Hiroki Ito is a prime candidate for departure in defense at Bayern. The Japanese defender has been told to explore a transfer this summer. Bayern are open to listening to offers worth €20 million for the versatile defender.

As per SportBild (via iMiaSanMia), a move to La Liga is an attractive prospect for Hiroki Ito. It remains to be seen if Bayern managed to get a fee that they want for the Japanese defender. His future is likely to be resolved in July since he is playing for Japan at the World Cup.

Bayern likely to make a loss on Ito

Ito was a shrewd signing made by Bayern in 2024. The Japanese defender can play in the heart of defense and as a left-back. He had done well for Stuttgart in the Bundesliga. However, a move to Munich brought an injury nightmare for Ito. He has struggled with different injuries over the last two years, which have prevented him from playing regularly for Die Roten.

Bayern had signed Ito for €30 million two years ago. Considering his injury problems over the last two years, Die Roten will do well to get a fee of €20 million for him. A good World Cup with Japan can be the ideal boost Ito needs to kickstart his career after an extended injury-ravaged spell.

Apart from Ito, Bayern are also open to hearing offers for Kim Min-jae. However, the South Korean defender is in no rush to leave Munich. He is content with his role in the squad. The former Napoli defender is currently the third-choice center-back under Vincent Kompany. Bayern will definitely dip into the market for a central defender if they end up parting ways with Ito and Kim Min-jae.
