Jamal Musiala

Jamal Musiala continued from where he left off at Euro 2024 when he scored his and Bayern’s first goal of the Bundesliga season en route to a 3-2 victory at Wolfsburg on the first matchday.

For most of the season, the 21-year-old attacking midfielder has been Bayern’s best all-round attacking player so far. In addition to his ability to slalom past defenders and pick out a teammate with a pass, Musiala has expanded his repertoire by scoring more goals, from both inside and outside the box, including some excellent headers. In all competitions this season, he has already scored 14 goals in 22 matches, including his first hat trick in a Bayern shirt. He also had five assists in those 22 games. At a time when Bayern are looking to tie down Musiala to a new long-term contract, he has given the Bayern chiefs every reason to do just that.

Michael Olise

Michael Olise joined Bayern last summer for a fee in the region of €53 million from Crystal Palace. So far, there has been very little to complain about in terms of his on-field performances and how well he has integrated himself into the team.

In his first 23 competitive games for Bayern, the 23-year-old French winger has scored nine goals and provided seven assists. His second goal in a 5-1 hammering of Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League is already an early candidate for goal-of-the-season. There is no denying the fact that Olise has been Bayern’s best winger this season.

Joshua Kimmich

There has never been any doubt as to the talent that Joshua Kimmich possesses. However, last season, the 29-year-old endured a dip in form across different positions. Things were so bad that ahead of the ongoing 2024/25 season there was talk of selling Kimmich amongst the Bayern hierarchy.

Despite having had the spotlight cast on him for the wrong reasons last year, Kimmich has made a 180-degree turn under his new coach Vincent Kompany. Simply put, in addition to being Bayern’s most consistent player so far this season, he has also been one of the best central/defensive midfielders in all of Europe. Should Kimmich and Bayern fail to agree on a contract beyond 2025 he would not be short of suitors based on his performances to date.

Honourable mentions go to Alphonso Davies who has recaptured his best form and Harry Kane who continues to lead the line with distinction.
