Bayern Munich are expected to strengthen the attack in the summer transfer window. The Bavarian club wants to sign a deputy for Luis Diaz. The Colombian has been in sensational form, but Bayern want to add more depth in this position.

The record Bundesliga champions have been linked with several forwards over the month. Despite speculation, there is no clarity in terms of who the primary transfer target is for Die Roten in this position.

The international break saw one big forward available for transfer in the summer. Mohamed Salah confirmed his departure from Liverpool at the end of the season. The Egyptian forward will leave on a free transfer in the summer, a year after signing a new contract.

Despite his decline this season, Salah’s availability in the summer makes him one of the most coveted players in Europe. The Egyptian national team director admitted that he has heard murmurs that Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have made offers for Salah.

However, Bayern have quickly denied reports linking them with a move for Salah. While talking to winwin.com (via Bild), Max Eberl admitted that Bayern have not made an offer for Salah.

"No, Mohamed Salah did not receive any offer from Bayern."

Salah not the right profile for Bayern

The Egyptian forward has been one of the most prolific forwards in Europe across several seasons at Liverpool. He won every possible trophy with the Merseyside club. Despite his decline this season, there is no doubt that he will improve almost every club across Europe.

Despite his quality and experience, Bayern is well-stacked in the right-wing position. Michael Olise has been one of the wide players in Europe while playing on the right flank for Die Roten. Serge Gnabry and Lennart Karl can also play on the right flank, giving Rekordmeister good options on the right side of the attack.

Moreover, Salah is entering the twilight of his career, and his wages do not fit in Bayern’s wage structure. The Bavarian club needs to sign a young forward who can develop quietly in the shadow of Luis Diaz. RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern. The Ivory Coast forward is expected to cost more than €100 million due to interest from several clubs across Europe.

Apart from strengthening the attack, Bayern also want to sign two full-backs. They also want to sign a midfielder since Leon Goretzka will leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season.
