Bayern Munich have stepped up their efforts to strengthen the squad for next season. The Club World Cup has certainly highlighted the need for getting one or two attacking players in the squad. The Bundesliga champions have made their first offer for VfB Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade.
According to Christian Falk and Sky Sports in Germany, Bayern had first bid worth €50 million (€45 million fixed plus €5 million bonuses) was rejected by Stuttgart for Woltemade. Stuttgart have consistently insisted that they have no plans to part ways with the young German forward this summer. Sky Sports has also reported that Die Roten had offered to pay the entire fee in four installments.
Bayern face complex negotiations since Woltemade has three years left on his contract at Stuttgart. He has emerged as Die Roten’s top target to strengthen the attack after missing out on the likes of Nico Williams, Bradley Barcola, and Florian Wirtz.
The Bundesliga champions have already agreed personal terms with the 23-year-old German forward. Woltemade has reportedly rejected approaches from Napoli and Chelsea since he has his heart set on a move to Munich.
🚨🔴 VfB Stuttgart are expecting an improved offer from FC Bayern for Nick #Woltemade shortly, although they have actually signalled to Bayern that they are not available for negotiations in the current ranges.

Bayern are expected to return quickly with an improved offer
Stuttgart’s rejection hasn’t stopped Bayern Munich from preparing a second bid for the German forward. According to Sky Sports in Germany, Bayern will quickly return with a new bid for Woltemade. They are counting on the player’s determination to join them to help their cause in negotiations with Stuttgart.
In an ideal scenario, Bayern will wrap up the signing of Woltemade before the start of the pre-season training later this month. The serious injury to Jamal Musiala has made the case of signing a new forward even more urgent.
Woltemade ticks several boxes for the type of forward Bayern want this summer. He can play in multiple positions across the front four. With the departures of Leroy Sane and Thomas Muller, Bayern need quality and depth in the attack for next season.
It does look like Bayern will look to seal the deal for Woltemade before turning their attention towards signing a winger. It has been a disappointing summer for Bayern until now. They have signed Jonathan Tah and Tom Bischoff on free transfers, but have had several failed pursuits in the attack. The Bavarian faithful will hope that the deal for Woltemade is wrapped up quickly so that the player can adapt to Vincent Kompany’s methods and hit the ground running in the Bavarian colours.
