The future of Leroy Sane has been subject to intense speculation over the last few weeks. The German winger was close to signing a new deal with Bayern Munich. However, he decided to switch agents at the last minute, which ensured a new round of negotiations was needed to agree on a new deal.

Sane has already rejected Bayern’s proposal. He is looking for slightly better financial terms, while Die Roten have not shown the appetite to raise their offer until now. There is a standstill, but both sides are not ruling out a contract extension.

In the meantime, clubs across Europe are looking to test the waters to sign Sane on a free transfer. According to Sky Sports in Germany, Galatasaray are pushing to sign Sane. The Turkish club is offering a net salary of more than €10 million.

Newly crowned Serie A champions Napoli have also shown interest in Sane. Meanwhile, Arsenal and Chelsea have also shown interest in the German winger. The 29-year-old is eager to stay in Munich but wants much better financial terms to sign a three-year contract.

Bayern could change their stance on Sane after missing out on Florian Wirtz

The Bundesliga champions will save significant money this summer as they are missing out on the signing of Florian Wirtz. The young German forward was Bayern’s top target, but he is opting for a move to Liverpool over Die Roten. Bayer Leverkusen would have requested Bayern close to €150 million for the transfer of Wirtz.

With Wirtz out of the picture, Bayern can invest the money in signing a new winger and raise their contract offer to Leroy Sane. The club chiefs have not ruled out a renewal for Sane. The two parties are expected to hold further talks in the coming weeks before the Club World Cup.

Sane enjoyed his best Bundesliga campaign in the Bavarian colours under Vincent Kompany. He was one of Die Roten’s consistent players during the second half of this season. The Bavarian faithful will hope to see him play at Allianz Arena next season.

Meanwhile, Bayern are working to strengthen their options on the left flank. They are looking at several Premier League forwards to address this position. Die Roten may look for another winger in the transfer market if Kingsley Coman ends up leaving the club. The French winger is open to exploring a transfer away from Bavaria this summer.
