Bayern Munich forward attracting interest from Newcastle United
Bayern Munich have to work on several contract extensions before the end of the year. Leroy Sane is one of the three players in the squad with less than a year left on their contracts. The German winger will be free to talk to interested clubs in January about a free transfer deal in the summer.
Sane is settled in Munich and wants to sign a contract extension. Bayern are also open to keeping the German winger. Die Roten have already held productive talks with Sane’s representatives, but a complete agreement is not in sight right now.
While Bayern continue to work on a new deal, Sane will attract interest from several top clubs across Europe. Former Premier League chief scout Mick Brown told Footballinsider that Newcastle United have a concrete interest in Leroy Sane.
"Given their financial situation as it has been, they’ll be pushing to get this one over the line. I know clubs have been tracking him since leaving Man City. I’ve heard Newcastle are among those clubs who will be looking to bring him in, and I’d be surprised if they didn’t at least try to get it done. Given his availability on a free, they’ll be looking to get him in with no outgoing fee which would be perfect for their finances""

The Premier League club will look to reach an agreement with Sane in January if Bayern fails to extend his contract in the next two months. Newcastle United can certainly meet the financial demands of Sane, but it remains to be seen if they will meet his sporting ambitions. Eddie Howe's team is not playing in any European competition this season.
Newcastle United will face stiff competition for Sane if he decides to leave Munich. As per Spanish journalist Matteo Moretto (via iMiaSanMia), FC Barcelona are one of the several clubs keeping a close eye on Sane’s situation at Bayern.
Bayern want to extend Sane’s contract without distorting wage bill
Sane is already one of the big earners at Bayern. The German winger was offered a lucrative deal when he arrived from Manchester City in 2020. The 28-year-old has been inconsistent for Bayern in the first couple of seasons but gradually got better in the last 18 months.
Die Roten are pleased with Sane’s performances, but the contract extension should also make sense financially for the Bavarian club. They are expected to offer a big salary to Jamal Musiala, which may have an impact on negotiations with other players. It remains to be seen if Sane will take a financial hit since it could be the last big contract of his career in Europe.
The next couple of months will give clarity about Sane’s future in Munich. For now, the German winger will look to get back to his best after spending the summer on the sidelines due to injury. Sane is not part of the German squad in the ongoing international break as he continues to build fitness at Sabner Straase.
