Courtesy of a comprehensive 3-0 win against Union Berlin, Bayern Munich became the first team in the top five leagues to score 50 goals across all competitions this season. The Bavarian club has thrived in the attack under Vincent Kompany.
Kompany has managed to get the best out of almost all forwards in the first three months of the season. Die Roten have a lot of firepower in the final third, but they are keen on adding one of the in-form Bundesliga forwards in the summer.
According to Sky Sports in Germany, Bayern are interested in signing Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of the season. Max Eberl is a big admirer of Marmoush. The Bavarian club has not held negotiations or formal discussions over a potential transfer, but some informal talks have already occurred.
Bayern will face competition from Liverpool for the Egyptian. Eintracht Frankfurt are expected to ask for a fee closer to €50-60 million for the 25-year-old forward. Marmoush will have more suitors as the season progresses, but Bayern and Liverpool have positioned themselves at the front of the queue for his signature.
Marmoush has been a standout player in the Bundesliga
The Egyptian forward has been a standout player for Eintracht Frankfurt across all competitions. He has scored 12 goals in 13 appearances across all competitions. Marmoush has also chipped in with six assists this season.
The 25-year-old can play in all three positions behind the striker. Frankfurt have used Marmoush in every attacking position this season. The Egyptian has caused havoc in the final third with his direct runs, dribbling, and ruthless finishing. He is on course to score at least 30 goals across all competitions, with 20 coming in the Bundesliga.
Marmoush will likely be part of Bayern’s contingency plans for the possible departures of senior wingers from the squad. Leroy Sane has just over six months left on his contract, while uncertainty looms over the futures of Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman. Bayern were open to selling Gnabry and Coman in the summer. However, deals favouring all parties never materialized.
Bayern are expected to spend most of their energy and money on getting Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen next summer. The German star is Die Roten’s top target to bolster their attack. Marmoush may arrive as a second signing to strengthen the attack, provided one or two senior wingers end up leaving Munich. (Stats courtesy: Whoscored)
