Bayern Munich could see several changes in the squad during the final three weeks of the summer transfer window. Kingsley Coman is likely to be the big departure at Bayern this week. The French defender has agreed personal terms with Al-Nassr. The Saudi Arabian club has also reached an agreement with Bayern regarding a transfer fee.
Coman was not a prime candidate for departure at Bayern, but the Bavarian club was open to listening to offers for him. Sacha Boey also finds himself in a similar situation at Die Roten. The French full-back is not the first-choice right-back at the club.
Boey has struggled to establish himself at Bayern ever since arriving from Galatasaray at the start of 2024. Injuries have not allowed Boey to get a consistent run in the starting XI. In his absence, other players have leapfrogged him in the pecking order.
Despite the possibility of getting less game time next season, SportBild (via iMiaSanMia) is reporting that Sacha Boey has no plans to leave Bayern this summer. The French full-back is eager to fight for a place in the starting XI.
Galatasaray have reportedly considered the possibility of bringing Boey back to Turkey. Olympique Marseille also have him on their list of summer transfer targets. Die Roten will be open to listening to offers for the French defender. It does look like Boey’s plan is to reevaluate his situation in the winter and give everything during Hinrunde to make a case for getting adequate game time.
Konrad Laimer will start first choice option in right-back position
For now, it looks certain that Konrad Laimer will be starting the first competitive game of the season in the right-back position. The Austrian defender has been exceptional in this role under Vincent Kompany during the second half of the season. He has formed a formidable partnership with Michael Olise on the right flank.
Josip Stanisic can also play in this position, but he will be needed in the left-back position since Alphonso Davies is months away from making a return to action. Boey will have to compete with Laimer to get game time during the first half of the season.
The French defender can certainly challenge Laimer if he remains injury-free. It will be more about performing at his best whenever Kompany gives him opportunities in the starting lineup. There is still a lot of time left in the transfer window, but it looks like there will be no change of clubs for Boey.
