With three weeks to go in the transfer window, clubs across Europe are rushing to strengthen their squads. Unlike other clubs, Bayern Munich are relaxed as they have completed the signings they want to strengthen the squad.
The defending Bundesliga champions are focusing on trimming the squad by arranging transfers for players who are not part of their plans for next season. Sacha Boey is one of the players who has been transfer-listed by Bayern this summer.
The right-back returned to Munich after spending the second half of the season on loan at Galatasaray. He decided to leave Bayern on loan after struggling for game time during the Hinrunde. The Turkish club decided against exercising the option to buy him, as they had only one foreign slot remaining in the squad for next season and wanted to keep that slot open for another signing.

Despite Bayern’s decision to part ways with Boey, the French defender has impressed the staff at Sabner Strasse during the pre-season training, as per TZ (via iMiaSanMia). Vincent Kompany has also praised Boey for how he has performed in the pre-season friendlies.
The French defender is still expected to leave Munich before the end of the transfer window. However, he is not giving up on his career at Bayern in a whimper.
Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for Boey, but Die Roten are yet to receive concrete bids for him. The Bavarian club will hope to see some movement on his future in the next couple of weeks.
Bayern are well covered in right-back position
Die Roten secured the right-back position for next season by extending Konrad Laimer’s contract. The Austrian midfielder has been exceptional in the right-back role for Bayern over the last two seasons. Laimer will start the season as Bayern’s first-choice right-back.
Apart from Laimer, Josip Stanisic can also do a good job in the right-back position. The Croatian defender has been a utility man under Vincent Kompany, delivering solid performances across different positions in the back four.
Joshua Kimmich can be the emergency option in the right-back position since he has excelled in this role in the past for club and country. Boey will find it difficult to get game time if he ends up staying in Munich. He had a productive loan spell at Galatasaray. A move away from Bavaria will suit all parties and help Boey kickstart his career after enduring a difficult time at Bayern due to injuries.
