The goalkeeping department needed trimming rather than strengthening this summer, as they have a plethora of options. Daniel Peretz was the prime target to leave Munich this summer to get consistent game time. He was expected to leave on a permanent transfer, but he sealed a season-long loan move to Hamburger SV on Monday.
Peretz will get the opportunity to stay in the Bundesliga and play every weekend. Bayern rate Peretz highly, so they will be pleased to sort out a move that can help him take the next step in his development.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper has made four appearances for Bayern since arriving from Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2023. He did well whenever Bayern needed him in the goal. Peretz decided against going out on loan last summer as he believed staying in Munich would be better for his development.
With the arrival of Jonas Urbig in January, Peretz slipped to third-choice goalkeeping option in the squad. He was expected to leave in the summer to get game time. PSV Eindhoven showed concrete interest in the 25-year-old shot-stopper, but the Dutch side couldn’t reach an agreement with Bayern for a transfer.
FC Bayern have loaned Daniel Peretz to Hamburger SV. He joins the promoted side until the end of the season.

Genoa had emerged as a potential destination for Peretz in the last few weeks. Hamburger SV have managed to see out the competition from the Italian club. Bayern will hope to see Peretz regularly next season and gain valuable experience at the top level before returning to Bavaria next summer.
Bayern have big decisions to make in the goalkeeping department next summer
Along with Peretz, Alexander Nubel will also return to Munich next summer after his loan spell at VfB Stuttgart. Nubel is entering the third year of his loan arrangement at Stuttgart. He has been one of the best Bundesliga goalkeepers in the last couple of seasons, which earned him a call-up to the national team.
Nubel was given a new deal last summer. His current contract at Bayern expires in 2029. Nubel will have to make a decision in 12 months whether to seek a permanent transfer. He has been touted to succeed Neuer in the long run, but the signing of Urbig suggests Nubel is not the front-runner to be the long-term number one of Bayern.
The departure of Peretz also potentially confirms that Sven Ulreich will sign another one-year contract at Bayern. Ulreich has been out of action in the last few months due to personal reasons, but he is expected to be back for pre-season training.
