It is pretty certain who Bayern Munich want to sign to strengthen their options in the wide attacking position. Reports in Germany and England have gathered momentum over the last few weeks, suggesting that Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon is the prime attacking target for Die Roten.
Gordon is expected to leave Newcastle United in the summer as the Tyneside club failed to qualify for the Champions League. There is significant interest from Bayern and Chelsea in the former Everton forward. A new European club is now showing interest in the English winger.
According to Sport, Barcelona’s sporting director Deco was spotted in talks with Gordon's representatives in Spain. It remains to be seen whether these talks were productive in terms of exploring a summer transfer for the 25-year-old forward.
Barcelona want to sign a wide forward in the summer as they are reluctant to sign Marcus Rashford on a permanent deal from Manchester United. Rashford has enjoyed a productive loan spell at Barcelona, chipping in with 23 goals and assists across all competitions. The Old Trafford side had agreed a loan deal with FC Barcelona, which had an option to make the move permanent for €30 million.
It remains to be seen if Barcelona have the finances to pull off a deal for Gordon. Newcastle United reportedly want a fee in excess of €80 million for the English forward.
Die Roten have no plans to pay such a big fee for Gordon. They are hoping to reach an agreement with the player and then use that as leverage in negotiations with Newcastle United. As per Florian Plettenberg, Bayern are planning to offer a five-year deal to Gordon. Considering the way Newcastle United got a Premier League record fee from Liverpool for Alexander Isak last summer, Bayern have a big job on their hand to sign Gordon for a reasonable fee.
🚨📈 Despite interest from other top clubs, FC Bayern have now presented Anthony #Gordon and his camp with concrete figures. Gordon could sign a five-year contract at Bayern.

Bayern have no plans to move for Nick Woltemade
It has been a disappointing campaign for Newcastle United. Nick Woltemade didn’t expect his debut season in England to be so difficult, as he struggles to get game time under Eddie Howe. There have been reports linking the German striker with a move away from Newcastle United.
Bayern have no plans to revive their interest in Woltemade. According to Sky Sports in Germany (via iMiaSanMia), the Bundesliga champions are not planning to sign Woltemade even if he is available on a loan deal.
Die Roten tried to sign Woltemade last summer, but they couldn’t agree on a transfer fee with Stuttgart. He ended up joining Newcastle United later in the summer.
