The new hierarchy at Bayern Munich are set to be involved in several contract negotiations over the next 12 months. Several key players in the squad have entered critical junctures of their contract. Joshua Kimmich is one of the few senior players who may soon enter talks with the club regarding a renewal.
The German midfielder’s current deal with Die Roten expires in 2025. In an ideal scenario, Bayern conclude talks with Kimmich by the end of the current campaign. Kimmich has not expressed his desire to experience a new adventure, so talks are unlikely to be as complicated as they were a few years ago. However, the German midfielder may decide to change the approach towards negotiations with Rekordmeister.
According to SportBild’s Tobi Altschaffl (via iMiaSanMia), Kimmich may look to get assistance or consult an agent while negotiating the next contract with Bayern. The German midfielder currently has no agent, but he will look to get support since the next deal is the last big one in his career.
Kimmich will be 30 by the time the current deal with Bayern runs out, so it makes sense for him to get the best possible package in the next contract. He will need a contract that satisfies him financially and also meets his sporting ambitions.
The German international is a key player for Bayern. He is already part of the leadership group and likely to become the full-time captain of the club once Neuer hangs his boots. The Bavarian club will definitely come up with the best possible offer to make sure Kimmich spends the rest of his peak years in Munich.
Kimmich may also seek clarity over his position on the pitch during contract negotiations. The German international considers him a number six, but Tuchel wants to sign a defensive midfielder who can play with Kimmich. It does look like Tuchel considers Kimmich as a number eight.
Considering how eager Kimmich has been to consistently play in the midfield throughout his career, he would like to get the club’s long-term plans with him. Bayern cannot afford to lose a player of Kimmich’s caliber, so they will have to work out a solution where Tuchel and Kimmich are both happy on and off the pitch.

Apart from Kimmich, Bayern also have to sort out new deals for Leroy Sane, Jamal Musiala, and Alphonso Davies. Neuer and Thomas Muller also have a few months left on their contracts, so talks with them are likely to take place at some point this season.
