Bayern Munich: Liverpool are keenly following situation of Leroy Sane
Bayern Munich have been doing well in the final third this season. The acquisition of Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur has improved the attack. Along with Kane, Leroy Sane has been the standout player for Bayern this campaign across all competitions.
Sane has been involved in seven goals for Die Roten this season. He has been consistent throughout the first three months of the campaign, working hard on and off the ball. The German winger is probably playing his best football since joining Bayern from Manchester City in 2020.
With Sane entering the peak years of his career, Bayern wants to secure his future. The record Bundesliga champions want to open contract talks with him in the coming weeks. Sane’s current deal expires in 2025, so several big clubs are keeping a close eye on his situation in Bavaria.
According to Sport1, Liverpool are interested in Leroy Sane. The Merseyside club is keenly following his situation in Munich. Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool have Sane on their list of attacking targets for next summer. The English club may need a quality attacker in the increasingly likely event of losing Mohamed Salah in the next summer transfer window.
Liverpool are not the only club showing interest in Sane. Barcelona were also reportedly interested in signing the German forward during the last transfer window. The 27-year-old forward shunned the interest from the Spanish club to stay in Munich. If Sane continues to deliver quality performances this season, more European top clubs will show interest in him.
Sport1 reveals that Leroy Sane is well-settled in Bavaria. He is not thinking about his future right now. Sane is focussing on maintaining consistency in his performances and helping Bayern to win silverware this season. The German forward considers Die Roten as his priority, so contract talks will be straightforward if the numbers involved satisfy all parties.

Bayern didn’t handle the contract situations of Niklas Sule, Benjamin Pavard, and Lucas Hernandez in the best possible manner. They ended up losing Sule on a free transfer, while Pavard and Hernandez left in the summer when they had entered the final year of the contract.
The Bavarian club cannot afford to make the same mistake with Leroy Sane. In an ideal scenario, Bayern extends Sane’s contract before the end of the season and shuts down the speculation. If there is no agreement before the end of the campaign, the summer transfer window could well be dominated by Sane’s future.
