Bayern Munich: Uli Hoeness heaps praise on Leroy Sane
Bayern Munich have been in scintillating form in the final third this season. The Bavarian club is scoring for fun after the arrival of Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur. The English forward has already scored eight goals for Bayern in six appearances. Along with Kane, Leroy Sane has also been in sensational form for Die Roten.
Sane has been hit-and-miss for Bayern since arriving from Manchester City in 2020. The German forward still boasts a good number of goals and assists for Bayern, but he has often struggled for consistency in his performances. He has gone through patches of good and bad form in the past three seasons.
However, this season has been completely different for Sane. He is currently playing his best football in Bayern colours. The German winger has scored five goals in six appearances for Die Roten this season. He has cemented a place in the starting XI with his consistent performances.
Thomas Tuchel and other Bayern players have been speaking highly of Sane’s form this season. While talking to the media during Oktoberfest (via Sport1), Uli Hoeness also had special praise for the former Manchester City winger. Hoeness is pleased with the way Sane has shown determination to get back to his best this season.

Sport1 reveals that Hoeness has been an advocate of Sane on the board. The German winger was subject to a topic of sale in the summer, but he was determined to stay in Bavaria and get back to his best. The good start to the campaign does suggest that this could be Sane’s year at Bayern.
The former Manchester City winger has credited Thomas Tuchel’s system at Bayern to get the best out of him. Tuchel and the Bavarian faithful will hope that Sane continues this rich vein of form and helps Die Roten to lift multiple trophies this season.
Kane’s arrival has also significantly helped Sane. The attacking duo have quickly built a strong partnership in the final third, which has resulted in some great goals in the first six games of the campaign. Considering the way he has started the campaign, Sane should be looking to score at least 20 goals this season across all competitions.

After good starts in the Bundesliga and Champions League, Bayern will look to maintain this trend in DFB Pokal. The Bavarian club will begin their domestic cup campaign away at Preussen Munster on Tuesday. Die Roten has endured disappointment in DFB Pokal during the last three campaigns, so Tuchel will be eager to make amends this season.
