It has been a season full of ups and downs for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. They started the campaign on a strong note with an emphatic 6-1 win away at Eintracht Frankfurt. The first few weeks of the season saw Bayern blowing teams away in the first half with the help of a fluid attack.

The impressive start to the season didn’t last long for Die Roten. They endured a dry spell in the final third during September. For the first time in more than a decade, Rekordmeister went on a winless run of four games in the league.

After a difficult September, Julian Nagelsmann was under immense pressure and scrutiny. He got the team back in form by changing the focal point of the attack. Rekordmeister went on a long unbeaten run until the start of the World Cup, which helped them to take a lead of four points at the top of the Bundesliga.

The Bavarian once again suffered a dip in form when Bundesliga resumed in January. They have won only two out of their six league games in 2023. Despite the inconsistency in league performance, Rekordmeister has done a fine job in cup competitions this season. While talking to Kicker, Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn has urged players to achieve consistency in Bundesliga just like they have been doing in the Bundesliga.

"“We are now in the decisive phase of the season – of course our goal must be to constantly deliver top performances. There’s no doubt that we have the quality for big titles.”“It’s always about total willingness, desire and at the same time a certain easiness. If we bring that to the pitch, we’re unbeatable. Our performances in the Champions League were consistent, but less in the Bundesliga.”"

Die Roten has qualified for the quarter-final of the DFB Pokal with emphatic results in previous rounds. They will face Eintracht Frankfurt at Allianz Arena in the quarter-final at the start of April. Considering the poor performances of Die Roten in DFB Pokal over the last two years, they have been very professional and solid this season against good teams.

Meanwhile, Bayern’s performances in the Champions League have been equally impressive. The Bavarian club all of their six games in the group stage. They are currently leading the round of 16 tie against Paris Saint-Germain after last week’s impressive 1-0 win away in Paris.

Die Roten needs to emulate these cup performances in the Bundesliga. They remain at the top of the points table due to a superior goal difference. Bayern cannot afford to drop more points in the coming weeks if they want to win their 11th consecutive league title.
