The winter transfer window is set to be a busy period for several clubs as they look to bolster the squad for a hectic schedule in the second half of the season. Bayern Munich expected a quiet window, but the injury to Manuel Neuer has forced their hand to dip into the market.

Bayern players are also expected to attract interest from several clubs during the winter window. Noussair Mazraoui is one of the Bayern players that could end up getting offers after an impressive World Cup with Morocco.

According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport (via FootballItalia), Inter Milan is weighing up a move for Noussair Mazraoui if they end up losing Denzel Dumfries in January. The Dutch full-back is attracting interest from Premier League, so a move may take place in the near future.

Even if Inter Milan ends up making a move for Mazraoui, it is highly unlikely that Bayern would sanction a transfer for a player that arrived in Bavaria last summer. The Moroccan defender joined Die Roten on a free transfer from Ajax at the start of the last summer transfer window.

After a slow start to life in Bavaria, Mazraoui got more consistent playing time by the end of Hinrunde. The Moroccan defender has adapted to Julian Nagelsmann’s philosophy in the past few months. He is likely to be the first-choice right-back for Bayern when Bundesliga resumes on January 20 against RB Leipzig.

Rekordmeister has been trying to sign a quality right-back for the past couple of years. They lost the race to sign Sergino Dest from Ajax in 2020. Barcelona ended up signing the US international, while Bayern signed Bouna Sarr from Marseille. The Senegalese defender has struggled with injury and form for Die Roten, which eventually forced the club to sign Noussair Mazraoui in the last summer transfer window.

Moreover, Benjamin Pavard is likely to leave Bayern in the summer. The French international has been Die Roten’s first-choice right-back since 2019. However, he is now open to experiencing a new league. Bayern is expected to hold talks with him for a new deal in Ruckrunde. The Bavarian club will have to part ways with him in the summer if he refuses to sign a new deal. His current deal expires in 2024.

Next. Three wishes for Christmas 2022. dark

Considering all these factors, it will be a big surprise if Bayern sanctions Mazraoui’s departure. Unless the player forces a move, Die Roten is expected to start the next season with the Moroccan full-back. The only Bayern full-back Inter can sign in January is Bouna Sarr. The Senegalese right-back is back in training after recovering from a knee injury. He is expected to leave the club in the winter transfer window.
