Bayern Munich is not expected to be busy with incomings in the winter transfer window. The Bavarian club is focusing on addressing key areas instead of the summer. However, Bayern Munich is ready to part ways with one of the senior players at a low fee when the transfer window opens in January.

According to SportBild (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern is hoping to part ways with Bouna Sarr in January. The Senegalese right-back has struggled for playing time in the last couple of seasons, but he had hoped to fight for a place in the team. Considering the depth in the full-back positions, Die Roten wants to sell Sarr in January, and they are ready to sanction his departure on a lower transfer fee.

Bouna Sarr arrived in Bavaria from Marseille in 2020 after Die Roten failed to sign Sergino Dest from Ajax. The Senegalese defender never managed to get going in Bavarian colours, as he made only 27 appearances in two seasons. The 30-year-old right-back has struggled with a knee injury this season, so he is yet to play for Die Roten this season.

Sarr is expected to be back in action during the winter window after undergoing knee surgery in Hinrunde. It will be better for all parties that Sarr finds a new club to play regularly. From Bayern’s perspective, they will be able to free up space in their wage structure with the departure of Sarr.

Apart from Bouna Sarr, there will be no other departure from the senior team during January. The report from SportBild insists that Benjamin Pavard is looking to leave Bavaria in the summer instead of the winter transfer window. The French defender’s contract runs down in 2024, and he is open to a new adventure after four years at Bayern.

Die Roten will not be listening to offers for Pavard in the winter window. The club hierarchy will try to change his mind in the coming months. If he remains firm on his desire to leave Die Roten in the summer, the German club will have to cash in during the next summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, Bayern is expected to accelerate contract talks with Lucas Hernandez in Ruckrunde. The French international is currently recovering from an ACL injury, but Die Roten is eager to secure his future. The Bavarian club has already held positive contract talks with Hernandez.

Die Roten is also reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Konrad Laimer to join the club on a free transfer in the summer. The Bavarian club also continues to monitor several forwards to strengthen the attack at the end of the season.
