Bayern Munich reshuffled the midfield department since the start of 2022. Corentin Tolisso left Bavaria after five years to rejoin Lyon on a free transfer, while Marc Roca sealed a permanent move to Leeds United in the summer. Mickael Cuisance left Bayern to join Venezia on a permanent deal in January 2022.
In terms of incomings, Bayern signed Ryan Gravenberch from Ajax in the summer. The Bavarian club managed to beat competition from several clubs to sign the young Dutch midfielder. Marcel Sabitzer has consistently played in the midfield pivot this season, but Die Roten still has room to add one more midfielder next summer.
Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham is set to be the hottest midfield prospect in the transfer market next summer. The young English midfielder has steadily developed at Dortmund in the past two years after Dortmund paid a significant fee for him to sign from Birmingham City.
Despite Die Roten likely to look for a midfielder in the transfer market, they will not be involved in the race to sign Bellingham. While talking to Bild, Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn has effectively ruled out a move for Bellingham since they have enough quality in the center of the park.
"“Of course Jude Bellingham for me is an outstanding player. However, with Kimmich, Goretzka, Sabitzer and Gravenberch, we’re very well equipped in this position.”“So we’re not thinking about that at all.”"
The financial aspect of the deal to sign Bellingham has made sure that Kahn has ruled out this transfer. He can definitely add more quality to Die Roten’s midfield. Moreover, the 19-year-old England international is expected to get better with time and become one of the best midfielders in Europe.
However, Dortmund is expected to demand a nine-figure fee to part ways with Bellingham next summer. According to The Athletic, Dortmund values Bellingham at €150 million. Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Real Madrid are keenly following the youngster’s situation at Dortmund. Bellingham’s current deal expires in 2025, so Dortmund can stick to their hefty evaluation.
It makes no sense for Bayern to invest that kind of money in Bellingham when they need a number nine next summer. Die Roten probably will not have a budget big enough to sign Bellingham. The Bavarian club is strongly interested in Bellingham’s England teammate Harry Kane. Die Roten’s majority of the summer budget will be pushed towards efforts to sign the English striker.

Along with Kane, Bayern is likely to strengthen midfield by signing Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig. The record Bundesliga champions had three bids rejected for Laimer in the summer, but they remain confident about signing him on a free transfer in June next year.
