Bayern Munich looks to start games strongly

The clear observation from the first two competitive games of the season is that Bayern is looking to start strongly. They managed to completely pin RB Leipzig in their half and managed to score three goals in the first half.

Die Roten was even better against Frankfurt as they scored twice inside 15 minutes. Julian Nagelsmann’s men were relentless in the final third. They were winning every second ball and playing much more direct with the fluid front four. The brave approach was rewarded with five goals in the first half.

There was no significant drop in intensity during the second half, but the early pressure and extra effort allowed the team to see out the game. There were glimpses of this approach of blowing teams away last season, but there was no continuity in results and performances. Things are looking much better this season after Julian Nagelsmann had the entire pre-season with the squad.

The approach of pressing high from the word go will test the fitness of the squad since this season has cramped scheduling of games due to World Cup in November. As of now, fast starts are working brilliantly for Die Roten, but it will be intriguing to see if they can sustain this intensity throughout the season.
