The Bavarian faithful finally got a glimpse of Mathys Tel on Friday. The French striker came on for Serge Gnabry after the hour mark in the thumping win against Eintracht Frankfurt. Bayern Munich believes that they have added an exciting attacking talent to the squad.

After signing Tel from Rennes, the Bavarian club is not expected to add more attacking players to the squad, but there could be one departure before the end of the summer. Joshua Zirkzee was not involved in the game against Frankfurt, with his future moving further away from Bavaria.

According to Sport1, Zirkzee wants to seal a move to Premier League as Fulham is interested in signing the Dutch striker. The Dutch forward has also been heavily linked with a move to Ajax, but the defending Dutch champions are yet to make a concrete bid for the forward.

Earlier this week, Evening Standard in the UK also reported Fulham’s interest in signing Zirkzee. They have confirmed talks between Fulham and Die Roten for the young striker. Moreover, Standard also reported Southampton and Bournemouth showing interest in Zirkzee. Fulham is currently leading the race to sign the Dutch forward.

Joshua Zirkzee was part of the squad at Bayern during the pre-season squad. After the departure of Robert Lewandowski, sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic reportedly wanted Zirkzee to get another chance to impress Julian Nagelsmann during pre-season.

Zirkzee did well in the limited playing time he got during the pre-season. The Dutch striker is eager to play regularly, which is not guaranteed at Die Roten. He enjoyed a productive loan spell at Anderlecht last season, scoring 15+ goals across all competitions. Zirkzee has hinted towards a permanent departure from Bavaria this summer to play regularly.

The good loan spell at Anderlecht attracted interest from West Ham and Ajax in Zirkzee. However, both clubs have not made a definitive bid to sign the Dutch forward. Bayern is ready to cash in this summer since Zirkzee has only one year left on his current deal. The defending Bundesliga champions should ideally try to insert a buy-back clause in this deal.

A permanent transfer for Zirkzee this summer will be the best outcome for all parties. Bayern will get the necessary funds to balance the books after spending heavily this summer. Zirkzee will get regular playing time next season. Zirkzee will be looking to seal the transfer sooner rather than later since the new campaign in the Premier League has already started this weekend.
