Competitive debut for new signings

The game against Leipzig will also be a competitive debut for most of the high-profile transfers completed by Die Roten. Mathys Tel will miss the game against RB Leipzig since he is not yet registered to feature for Bayern in a competitive game. The other four new arrivals are fit to travel to Leipzig with the rest of the squad.

Matthijs de Ligt is likely to start in the heart of the defense. The Dutch defender will face a stern test on Saturday as he will come up with Christopher Nkunku. He was one of the most prolific forwards in Europe last season. It will be interesting to see with whom de Ligt will be paired in the heart of defense on Saturday.

Noussair Mazraoui may start on the bench against Leipzig as Die Roten looks to ease him into the start of the defense. The Moroccan right-back will most likely come on in the second half to make his debut. Having an attacking full-back on the right side is an exciting proposition for the Bavarian faithful.

Ryan Gravenberch was impressive in the pre-season friendlies, but he is expected to start on the bench as Marcel Sabitzer is expected to start with Joshua Kimmich in the midfield. Meanwhile, Sadio Mane could end up starting as number nine for Die Roten against Leipzig. The Senegalese forward has looked sharp in the pre-season, so it will be nice to see him get off the mark on Saturday.
