Bayern Munich: Sadio Mane signing is big boost for Hasan Salihamidzic
The attack of Bayern Munich has been significantly strengthened this week by the signing of Sadio Mane from Liverpool. The 30-year-old forward was unveiled as Die Roten’s latest summer signing on Tuesday at Allianz Arena. Mane has signed a three-year deal with the German Champions.
Mane has been one of the standout forwards in the Premier League over the past few seasons. He will be providing good tactical flexibility to Julian Nagelsmann as he can play anywhere across the front three. The Senegalese forward enjoyed success in various positions for Liverpool over the last few seasons.
Along with improving the team, Mane’s arrival is a significant boost for Hasan Salihamidzic. The former Bayern midfielder has endured mixed fortune as Bayern’s Sporting Director since returning to the club in 2017. Along with Mane’s arrival, Salihamidzic has done really well to tie down the signings of Noussair Mazraoui and Ryan Gravenberch from Ajax. The early signings will certainly give Julian Nagelsmann time to integrate them during the pre-season. The last couple of summer windows have seen crucial transfer business done at the end of the transfer window.
Getting quality players quickly will increase Salihamidizic’s chances of getting a contract extension. His current deal with Die Roten is set to expire in 2023. The other crucial members of the board have publicly backed Salihamidzic despite staunch criticism from fans. He is likely to get support from them when there are discussions for contract renewal. The support from fans will also further strengthen the possibility of a contract extension from Salihamidzic.
