Along with strengthening the squad with new faces, Bayern Munich is also trimming the wage bill to maintain financial order at the club. The Bavarian club is looking to offload numerous players from the first team. There has been significant interest in some players, while it is difficult to part ways with a few players due to their current salary. Jann-Fiete Arp falls in the second category as he is close to bringing an end to a disastrous spell at Die Roten.

According to Bild, Bayern has decided to terminate the contract of Jann-Fiete Arp. The youngster will get compensation worth €3 million as his deal with Die Roten was set to expire in 2023. Arp is expected to complete a move to Holstein Kiel once his contract is terminated by Bayern. He had spent last season on loan at Kiel.

Bild also reports that Die Roten has managed to insert a 35% sell-on clause in the deal that will see him join Kiel as a free agent. The German forward will bring an end to a miserable after arriving from Hamburg in 2019.

Arp was rated highly in Germany after his impressive performances for Hamburg. However, he struggled to get first-team opportunities at Bayern. He largely played for the reserves team during his two seasons in Bavaria before going out on loan to Kiel at the start of last season.

Bayern will be relieved with the departure of Arp as he was on significant wages. His termination fee will be compensated by the sell-on clause in the future. The German forward will go down as one of the poor transfers completed by Die Roten under the leadership of Hasan Salihamidzic.

Meanwhile, there has been no update on the potential departure of Joshua Zirkzee. The Dutch forward is also likely to leave permanently this summer after an impressive loan spell with Anderlecht. The Belgian club is interested in having him back on a permanent deal, while Ajax and West Ham have also been linked with him.

Along with Zirkzee, Die Roten could also further boost their transfer budget by listening to offers for Chris Richards. The young center-back had a very productive loan spell at Hoffenheim last season. He is unlikely to get regular playing time at Rekordmeister, so the club might as well cash in with a buy-back option.

After the international break was concluded this week, there could be significant movement on incomings and departures at Bayern in the coming days. The Bavarian club doesn’t have a mammoth budget, so departures are equally important. The transfer exits of the likes of Jann-Fiete Arp, Zirkzee, and Richards will give the club enough room in the budget and wage bill.
