There are going to be several changes in the first-team squad at Bayern Munich this summer. Along with the arrival of new players, some of the senior squad players are expected to leave Bavaria. Corentin Tolisso is one of the few players that has confirmed his departure.
Tolisso released a statement on Monday to bring an end to his five-year tenure as a Bayern Munich player. The French midfielder will be leaving as a free agent since his current deal with the German Champions will be coming to an end in June.
The French midfielder arrived in Bavaria for a then club-record fee of €41.5 million. Tolisso managed to make 118 appearances for Bayern in the past five seasons. He managed to contribute with 21 goals and 15 assists during his time in Bavaria. In terms of silverware, Tolisso managed to win every possible trophy with Die Roten during his time at the club. Corentin Tolisso enjoyed a very productive debut season with Bayern. He provided goals from midfield and became a vital player for Die Roten. After a good season with the Bavarian club, Tolisso was also part of the French squad that won the World Cup in 2018.
Tolisso was expected to be a big part of the club’s future. However, things didn’t go as per plans for him and Bayern. He suffered a cruciate ligament injury early in his second season at Die Roten. The French midfielder never got back to his best after this injury. Moreover, Tolisso also kept on suffering various muscle injuries that made sure that he had just over 100 appearances for the club in five years.
Despite the injury problems, Tolisso always gave his best whenever he came on the pitch for Bayern. The German club was thinking about offering him a deal, but the consistent injury problems made it a difficult financial decision for them. Eventually, it is best for all parties that Tolisso was allowed to leave this summer.

Corentin Tolisso is expected to attract a lot of interest in the summer. Juventus wanted to sign him last summer. The Italian club may try again this year. Meanwhile, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, and Tottenham Hotspur have also been credited with an interest in the French international.
