The last few weeks have given a clear indication about the top transfer target of Bayern Munich. The Bavarian club is keen on completing the signing of Sadio Mane from Liverpool. After holding talks with Mane’s representatives, things are moving in the right direction for Die Roten regarding this transfer.
According to Bild, Bayern is getting confident about signing Mane from Liverpool for €50 million. The Senegalese forward will be entering the final 12 months of his current deal at the Merseyside club. Die Roten believes that they will be able to get Mane for a decent fee, just like Liverpool signed Thiago Alcantara from them in 2020.
The report from Bild is also backed up by Sport1 and Sky Sport. All three reports have suggested that Mane is also leaning towards a move to Bavaria. The Senegalese forward is reportedly looking for a challenge after winning every possible trophy with Liverpool.
Meanwhile, L’Equipe in France (via GFFN) is reporting that personal terms are close to being agreed between Sadio Mane and Bayern. The French media outlet insists that Mane could join Bayern for €30 million. Considering the consistency of Mane over the last few seasons, Liverpool is well within their rights to demand a bigger fee despite him having only 12 months left on his contract.
Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly planning to use a false nine from next season, with Robert Lewandowski likely leaving the club to join Barcelona this summer. Mane will seamlessly fit in this position and become a potent goal scorer for the Bavarian club.
In the current campaign, Mane has managed to score 20+ goals for Liverpool across all competitions. He also has the knack for scoring goals in big games, which bodes well for Bayern. Apart from his goalscoring exploits, Mane also has an exemplary work ethic and doesn’t shy away from defensive duties.
Mane is currently enjoying the peak of his career. He will not be a long-term signing as he turns 31 next season. However, he will be a very solid addition to the squad that will be aiming for a lot of success in the next three to four seasons. It could go down as a massive coup for Die Roten provided the transfer fee is not exorbitant.

Along with Mane, Bayern is also working on signing Sasa Kaladjzic. The Austrian striker will serve as a plan B for Nagelsmann from next season if a deal is agreed with Stuttgart. The Bavarian club has completed the signing of Noussair Mazraoui this week, while his Ajax teammate Ryan Gravenberch will also soon arrive in Bavaria to complete his transfer.
