Apart from the Champions League final, all major domestic cup and league competitions were concluded last weekend. Even though the transfer window opens in June, all clubs have already started working on various deals. Bayern Munich is set to be busy this summer as they enter one of the most challenging transfer windows.

It does look like the biggest deal pursued by Die Roten in the summer will be for Liverpool’s Sadio Mane. The Bavarian club has previously held talks with the winger’s agent. The latest update from Germany provides the possible transfer fee for the Senegalese winger as the Bavarian club is actively pursuing the deal.

According to Sky Sports in Germany, Sadio Mane can imagine a move to Bayern in the summer. There have been developments in the talks between the winger’s agent and the Bavarian club. The fee mentioned by the German media outlet for Mane is €50 million.

Since Kylian Mbappe is staying at Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern is currently leading the race for Mane. As per Sky Sports, the French club looked at Mane as one of the candidates to replace Mbappe this summer. However, there have been no negotiations between Liverpool and Bayern for Mane.

Mane and Liverpool are currently focussing on the upcoming Champions League final against Real Madrid. There is likely to be more clarity regarding Mane’s future in Merseyside once the season comes to an end for Liverpool.

The English club can demand a significant fee for Mane despite him having only a year left on his contract. The Senegalese winger has been in fine form this season, scoring 21 goals across all competitions. Mane came up with some big goals during Liverpool’s domestic run as they competed for all three trophies until the end. He came up with the crucial equaliser against Wolves on Sunday, but Liverpool eventually fell short in the Premier League by a single point.

Mane’s contract situation will make sure that other top clubs also try to price him away from Liverpool. Bayern is possibly looking at Mane as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker is keen on leaving Bavaria to join FC Barcelona. The Spanish club made the first offer worth €32 million for the Polish striker. Die Roten will be looking to get a much bigger fee for him since he guarantees 40 goals every season.

The next few weeks will give a clear indication about Die Roten’s pursuit of Mane. Both clubs have a good relationship after they negotiated in 2020 for the transfer of Thiago Alcantara from Bavaria to Merseyside. It does look like this time the roles will be reversed in the transfer dealing, and the player will be moving to Germany from England.
